It’s no secret that Houston is hot. When I met Aaron and Stacey last week the temperature was well into the 90s. It was so hot that Aaron (thinking ahead) kept a rag in his back pocket to wipe up sweat. Plus, the Arboretum closes at 7, so we had to start our session earlier in the day while the sun was still beating down on us. But the beautiful golden light, this sweet couple, and having the place to ourselves made the heat worth it for these summer engagement pictures at the Houston Arboretum.
The Houston Arboretum can be almost overwhelming for me to shoot in. It’s so big and beautiful that as I walk through it I’m always afraid that I’m missing out on something beautiful. Since it was so hot we tried not to walk around too much, but stuck pretty close by the entrance of the Arboretum.
Stacey and Aaron are the sweetest couple. They toughed out the heat and were such good sports. I had a great time talking with them about how insane summer weddings are, venomous snakes, pictures grandmas like, and being courteous to Siri.
Even the parking lots are beautiful at the Houston Arboretum.
Stacey’s mom brought up their sweet dog, Indie, so we could take a few pictures with her. That tongue flopping out of her mouth cracks me up every time I look at it.
